Mineral Exploration
East African Extractive Partners (EAEP) is a private entity focused on the planning, coordination, and execution of activities related to geological studies and mineral exploration. Our services include comprehensive geological mapping, exploration of economic minerals and construction materials, identifying potential target areas (PTAs) for future mining projects, assessing license applications, conducting chemical analysis of minerals within our laboratory, and issuing sample export permits.
Geological mapping is a vital process where geologists collect field data on rock formations and structures, including boundaries between rock types, textures, and signs of tectonic activity. This information is crucial for mineral prospecting, groundwater quality assessment, and civil engineering projects.
In the last two decades, the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has transformed geological mapping. Using GIS software, geologists can manipulate and analyze data digitally, which enhances mapping accuracy and supports a wide variety of projects, from mineral exploration to hazard prediction.
EAEP's Mineral Exploration Division conducts geological mapping on both large and small scales, updating national geological maps and focusing on mineralized zones and areas of interest.
Our team meticulously evaluates license applications, specifically focusing on the geological information provided. We assess whether the proposed exploration or mining activities align with the available geological data. If necessary, field visits are conducted to verify the accuracy of the information.
We also evaluate ongoing mining projects through periodic progress reports, ensuring that operations comply with regulatory requirements. In cases of non-compliance, further field inspections are scheduled.
EAEP conducts an annual campaign to evaluate and rank known mineralized areas based on their mineral potential. This process involves in-depth desktop studies using geophysical, geochemical, and geological data from regional archives, to identify priority areas for future exploration and investment.
Our exploration strategy is driven by available budgets and the identified priority of each PTA, with the aim of fostering sustainable investments in the mining sector.
This aligns with our broader vision to diversify the types of minerals explored, moving beyond traditional minerals like 3Ts to include a wider range of valuable resources, in accordance with national mining laws.
As part of our ongoing mission to advance the extractive sector, EAEP provides comprehensive mineral exploration services, including geophysical surveys, geological studies, and the preparation of reports for potential investors and stakeholders.
We support exploration projects by advising on the best practices for geological studies and assisting in the development of strategic plans for identifying and developing mineral resources across East Africa.
EAEP is dedicated to identifying and exploring critical minerals essential for modern industries, including rare earth elements and other high-demand resources. Our approach integrates innovative technology and up-to-date exploration techniques to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving market.
